Kalamazoo detectives identify fatal hit and run victim, seeking the public’s assistance in their investigation

KALAMAZOO,  MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety has identified the victim of a fatal hit and run accident Saturday night as 60-year-old Leroy Carl Lawson of Kalamazoo .

At 10:08 p.m. a passerby alerted officers to a body in the roadway on Mills Street near Oneil Street. Officers checked and located a badly injured Lawson with a bicycle nearby. He later died.

KDPS detectives are asking anyone who might have passed along Mills Street from Kings Highway to East Michigan Avenue at about 10:00 p.m. Saturday to call them at (269)337-8139.
